About Us
Greg and Liss, the driving force behind ‘The Butchers Bakehouse,’ embarked on their baking journey with determination and passion.
Their unwavering commitment led to The Butchers Bakehouse flourishing. Facing the formidable hurdles of a pandemic and recession, their dedication and resilience shone through as they expanded to Wadebridge and established a dedicated baking unit in Padstow, supplying some of Cornwall’s most prominent establishments.
Greg and Liss are a testament to the power of perseverance and a shared dream in the world of baking.
Timeline
Our story
The Butchers Bakehouse was founded in 2020
During the difficult time of Covid-19, Liss and Greg, our founders, decided that a lifestyle change was needed from working for busy hotels and juggling two children. They rented the local butchers shop in their hometown of St Columb Major, Cornwall and The Butchers Bakehouse was formed!
Within the first 6 months demand was incredible
Greg’s amazing pastries and sourdough were a hit but being the ambitous couple they are, Greg and Liss weren’t happy with just supplying St Columb Major.
Production soon began in Padstow
With both Greg and Liss having very ambitious personalities, staying small wasn’t an option. Shortly after opening in Padstow they started supplying high-end retailers, including; Nathan Outlaw and Rick Stein.
Today the couple now have a second shop in Wadebridge
They also have a van that pops up at boot sales and campsites. Greg and Liss are hugely proud of their products and will keep trying to build a baking world empire!
